Why do they do this? Empty Why do they do this?

Just reading on another fire forum, it shows a fire panel has been used as a junction box, with the question posed "why do they do this?"
one answer was "because their idle b******s ? "

To that I would say "look at it from the other side of the coin"

No, I am not saying its right far, from it. I look at it as the person who has to do it has been told "nice easy job, add this, it will only take a couple of hours, then you can go to that other job"
So before you start there has to be a compromise, so that is why the panel has been used as junction box, to get the job done.
The righteous among you will say it has to be done properly or not all, but the person who has to do it didn't know that was the case until he arrived on site, and his boss has told him he has to be done in 1/2 a day, so what choice is there?

It could also be said that the customer should be told and the job re-quoted, yes that is true, close the door on your way out.

I feel that some folk where forums are concerned are "holier than thou" Yes we would all like to do the perfect job every time, but at the end of the day if the customer has been told it will cost xyz, you have 3 choices.
1) Do the job correctly at your expense (You wont be doing that very often and staying afloat)
2) Do the best you can
3) Walk away.

Discuss.
